On receipt of your initial Enquiry, Family Roots in Scotland will conduct sufficient research to confirm a suitable start-point for the work you have enquired on. This research will be carried out free of charge. We will respond to your initial enquiry advising of the success or failure of our initial research. In certain circumstances, we may request further information from you to enable a successful start-point to be identified.
Family Roots in Scotland provides a number of different price options based on whether you would like to see where the research might take you, or whether you are just following a single line (where the Up to 10-, 25- and 50-Copy Documents prices will be more relevant), or whether you would like research carried out family-wide (where the Up to 100-, 200- and 400- prices will be more relevant).
During our research, Family Roots in Scotland may identify physical documents which would assist in building your family tree (e.g. more recent official Scottish records, or official records from England, Wales and Ireland). Additional cost may be involved. Before progressing with such research, Family Roots in Scotland will contact you with an indication of the document involved, its cost, and its benefit to the provision of your family tree. We will act on your instructions accordingly.
Your Family Pack will only be provided to you on receipt of the appropriate payment - either by you prepaying using one of the "Buy Now" options below or by settling an Invoice raised for the work carried out. Invoices and Payments are all processed using PayPal.
(*) Family Roots in Scotland will always try to identify 1 more document than you have actually paid for. This will enable us to give you an honest indication during the Regular Progress Update whether further payment from you will actually provide results. (#) As described in Our Sources, Copy Documents refers to official documents available on-line as provided by the General Register Office for Scotland under the date restrictions identified.
